　　The Tomb-sweeping Day (about 500 words)

　　Today is the Tomb-sweeping Day. An ancient poet said, rains fell heavily as Qingming came, the passers-by went along with low spirits. Right on this day, we went to the martyrs’ cemetery to pay our respects . While walking on the road, we saw the land had put on new green clothes. Among the green grass one the roadside, flowers were blossoming in various kinds of colors, red, yellow, purple, etc. Seeing the green grass and beautiful flowers, and we found the scenery pleasant to both our eyes and the minds.

　　Entering the martyrs’ cemetery, we saw the graves of martyrs. In front of the martyrs’ tombs, there were laid some wreaths, and small white fresh flowers. On the grave stones, the martyrs’ names were engraved. Seeing this, our hearts were filled with grieve and got ups and downs. In front of a tomb, we bowed to the martyrs and presented the flowers. Then, we stood in silent tribute for three minutes. At this moment, our minds surged with emotions, thinking: our happy life today has been brought by the bloods of the revolutionary martyrs. So our hearts were filled with determinations: we should carry out the martyrs’ behests, study hard, strive to become the backbones in our socialist construction

　　今天是清明節(jié)。古人說過，清明時(shí)節(jié)雨紛紛，路上行人欲斷魂。我們也帶著這沉沉心情前去烈士陵園掃墓。

　　我們走在路上，看到大地都換上了碧綠的新裝。路邊的綠草中鮮花朵朵，有紅的，有綠的，有黃的……看見這些碧綠的青草和和美麗的鮮花，又使我們心曠神怡。

　　走進(jìn)了烈士陵園，就看見了烈士們的墳?zāi)�。一個(gè)個(gè)烈士烈士墓前，擺放著看著一個(gè)個(gè)花圈，還有一朵朵純潔的小白花，我們看了，不由得心濤起伏。我們?cè)谝粋€(gè)烈士墓前，向烈士鞠躬，并且獻(xiàn)上了鮮花。此后，我們靜默了三分鐘。此時(shí)我們心潮澎湃，想到：我們今天的幸福美好生活都是由革命先烈們用他們的鮮血換來的。于是，我的心中起了一個(gè)念頭：要繼承先烈遺志，發(fā)奮學(xué)習(xí)，努力成為建設(shè)國(guó)家的棟梁。

　　清明節(jié)，又叫踏青節(jié)，正是春光明媚草木吐綠的時(shí)節(jié)，也正是人們春游的好時(shí)候，所以古人有清明踏青，并開展一系列體育活動(dòng)的的習(xí)俗。直到今天，清明節(jié)祭拜祖先，悼念已逝的親人的習(xí)俗仍很盛行。

　　Last Qingming Festival,i return home to worship my grandfather.Qingming Festival is a folk Festival.In the past,In the past, the Qingming Festival was called "Arbor Day". But Today, Chinese visit their family graves to tend to any underbrush that has grown. Weeds are pulled, and dirt swept away, and the family will set out offerings of food and spirit money. Unlike the sacrifices at a family's home altar, the offerings at the tomb usually consist of dry, bland food. One theory is that since any number of ghosts rome around a grave area, the less appealing food will be consumed by the ancestors, and not be plundered by strangers.

　　With the passing of time, this celebration of life became a day to the honor past ancestors. Following folk religion, the Chinese believed that the spirits of deceased ancestors looked after the family. Sacrifices of food and spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good harvests and more children.
